Church History and Records
Because civil records are not always available, church records can be vital in reconstructing your family. There are many types of church records, including baptism and christening records, marriage records, confirmation records, obituaries and death records, and membership records.
Most church records remain with the individual church, although in some denominations, records are archived at the regional level, and in other cases, at the diocesan level. Access to these records will vary widely.
