New Periodicals for 2009

For the Love of QuiltingFirst of all, let me extend greetings of a Happy New Year to all our patrons and friends of the Henrietta Public Library!  In 2009, the library will be subscribing to six new magazine titles.

There are many, many quilters in the Henrietta area. We host two quilt-making clubs in the library on a regular basis and have a very diverse and large collection of quilting books that circulate.  For our quilters out there we will be adding Fons and Porter’s For the Love of Quilting magazine.  For the Love of Quilting, a bi-monthly magazine, includes bright photos with patterns for great quilting projects.  This is a must read for the serious quilter.

Home PowerHome Power presents several articles in each bi-monthly issue regarding renewable energy sources and projects for the home including solar, wind, and geothermal processes.  Included are articles on safety, designs and the financial aspects of alternative energy.

EntrepreneurEntrepreneur magazine arrives monthly and is most suitable for the beginner businessman who is thinking of starting his own business or franchising. Articles cover the basics of running your own business and offers advice on various aspects of entrepreneurship.

Men’s HealthMen’s Health obviously covers issues pertaining to men’s health but also diet tips, career and employment topics, fashion – but for the regular guy – not haute couture, as well as some articles on relationships.

New York Archives is a magazine for the educated public interested in the history and historical resources of New York State. Articles usually tell of historic figures not necessarily born in New York State but related in some way to the state. This should be a fascinating magazine for our history buffs!

Readers’ DigestFinally, the library will be subscribing to the large print edition of the Readers’ Digest. This perennial favorite of many patrons will be shelved in the large print book area of the library.

We hope you will enjoy these new magazines and the many others to which the library subscribes. All except the most current issue of our magazines can be borrowed for three weeks. As always, come on down to YOUR public library and check us out!
