September Changes!

September brings a new month, new teachers, new schools and new weather patterns to our patrons at the Henrietta Public Library. The floor plan in the library will be changing as well in the coming weeks.

If You Ask Me...Last Friday, the library’s audio-visual staff relocated our non-fiction books on compact disc and DVDs!  Due to the shifting of most of the old reference section, space has opened up adjacent to the present audio-visual area. Now patrons will find a long shelving unit parallel to the compact music shelving. One side contains all our non-fiction adult books on compact disc arranged by subject with the proper Dewey call number. This area includes Shakespeare’s plays on CD, memoirs including Betty White’s new book: If You Ask Me… as well as other titles that were previously “hidden” in the book stacks. The other side of the unit contains all the adult The Civil Warnon-fiction DVDs also arranged by call number. Here you will find many fitness and exercise DVDs, as well as Ken Burns’ The Civil War and his series The War.  There are also many travel and home improvement DVDs. For the present time we will keep all our non-fiction videocassettes in with the books as well as all language instruction media.

We hope you like our new arrangement. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask a staff member. As always, come into the Henrietta Public Library and check us out!
