J'aime ma biblioteque!
We all know February is the month for giving chocolates to your special friend or spouse, sending valentines to your sweetheart – but did you know it was “Love Your Library” month too? The Henrietta Public Library has recently purchased several new sets of the Living Language All-Audio series on compact disc. Now our patrons can learn how to say “I love my library” in several languages!
The All-Audio Living Language sets typically include three compact discs and a handy listener’s guide which consists of thirty or so short lessons with a list of new vocabulary words learned in that lesson. These courses are not meant to be all-encompassing, but a method emphasizing spoken communications and common phrases. These courses will enrich and/or improve your foreign language skills. The more popular Spanish and French languages are in sets with two steps. Here are the titles in this series that we currently own with their shelf locations:
| All-Audio French Step 1 and 2
| BK/CD 448.3421 ALL
|
| All-Audio Spanish Step 1 and 2 |
BK/CD 468.3421 ALL |
| We also have the Living Language Complete Course the Basics for: |

BK/CD 492.7834 LIV |
| German |
BK/CD 438.242 GER |
| Italian |
BK/CD 458.2421 ITAL |

BK/CD 495.1834 MAND |
These courses come with three compact discs, a 300 + page study guide and dictionary.
Finally, the library also has the Living Language English for New Americans series which have separate courses dealing with “Everyday Life”, “Work and School”, and “Health, Home and Community”, call number 428.34. Each course in this series contains one DVD, one compact disc, a workbook and an audio script. The workbook begins with an introduction to the program in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean and Russian.
As always, come into the Henrietta Public Library and “checkout” our new audio-visual items.
