This month, we are displaying a special assortment of hankies, collected by our clerk, Lynn Neill. We're sharing with you here Lynn's account of how hanky collecting became her hobby: "Our grandmother made hanky dolls to keep us quiet during church services. When she passed away, my sisters and I inherited her handkerchiefs. We started collecting other hankies at garage and estate sales. Handkerchiefs don’t take up much storage space. It is interesting to see all the creative ways people embellish them. My favorite are crocheted hankies." Extend your stay at the library for a few minutes and enjoy Lynn's lovely exhibit!
