At last night's Board Meeting, our Board of Trustees officially adopted our new mission statement:
Henrietta Public Library: where our community connects, discovers, and learns.
This is part of a larger process that began with the survey we did last summer and will end with a strategic plan that will help us evolve with our community and the world in the coming years. We worked on our mission statement in meetings over the last several months, in which staff and the Board had many conversations about who we are and what we do. Ultimately, we brainstormed a number of statements (about fifteen of them), went through a voting process, and discussed our strongest options until we settled on a winner.
I like it. I hope you do, too. As always, I welcome your comments and thoughts.
