The following are business reference sources available at the Henrietta Public Library. Print Resources:Local Business Clipping File contains 5 years worth of articles about upstate New York businesses clipped from the Democrat and Chronicle and the Rochester Business Journal. Ask for use of the Clipping File at the Reference Desk. Million Dollar Directory is a publication of Dun and Bradstreet. It provides basic information on both public and private companies and indexes the companies by location (geographic) and industry (type of business). This set is located at the Business carrels. Morningstar offers a one-page summary of information on about 1700 mutual funds. Morningstar also rates each fund for investment risk and in comparison with other similar mutual funds. Updates are made twice each month. Morningstar is kept at the Reference Desk. Regional Business Directory is a yearly publication of Dun and Bradstreet. It gives basic information on companies in all of upstate New York. Companies are listed by city and zip code (geographic listings), and there are also indexes by SIC code and company name. The Directory is located at the Business carrels. Standard and Poor's Corporation Records has financial information on over 12,000 publicly held corporations. Includes descriptions of background, financial structure and corporate history. This service is update monthly and the separate Daily News Sections are updated 5 days a week. Corporation Records are located at the Business carrels. Standard and Poor's Outlook is a weekly investment advisor that presents timely stock market analysis and specific buy/hold/sell recommendations on 1,100 stocks. Outlook is kept at the Reference Desk. Standard and Poor's Stock Guide profiles over 7,000 stocks monthly. The Stock Guide is located at the Business carrels. Standard and Poor's Stock Reports is a monthly publication that offers investment information on more than 4,600 stocks from the NYSE, ASE and NASDAQ markets. The Stock Reports is located at the Business carrels. Thomas Register is a multi-volume set that includes American Manufacturer's catalogs and indexes manufacturers by product. It is located in a carrel at the end of the 600's reference shelving. Value Line and Value Line Expanded Edition together offer a one-page summary of information on about 3500 stocks. Value Line has a number of ranking criteria to rate each stock. Updates are made weekly. The Value Line Index is kept at the Reference Desk and the notebooks containing the individual Reports are located at the Business carrels. |
